Having a huge laundry space is something that everyone dreams of. This is simply because we obviously need space to keep a lot of things. But it is obviously not possible for us to have a huge laundry space because apartments in Singapore are small. There is no room for a laundry space that is wide enough. So managing what we have is the only option that is left to us.

So, if you are one of those house owners who have a small laundry space, you do not have to worry. There are umpteen ways in which you can make the most of your laundry space. Plus, you also do not have to make any kind of structural changes in your space to make the most of your small laundry. You just need to follow these tips and tricks, and your game is sorted.

1. Try looking for storage spots

The best way to maximize your laundry space is to look for spots that can help you store your extras. Many people are blessed with shelves just above their laundry machines. If this is the case with you, then you are halfway there. All you've got to do is get some pull-out baskets and arrange them on these shelves. You can now put your laundry essentials in them. Labeling them can also help you, as no one would dare mess with them. You can also achieve a clean look for your space by replacing those bulky detergent bottles with glass jars. You just need to stuff the detergent in glass jars and throw away those bottles.

You can even try installing some floating shelves with hooks underneath, adding a bookshelf, or sliding a cart with wheels between your machines.

2. Hang out to dry

The biggest drawback of a compact laundry room is that you have no space to hang dry your nicer clothes. Many people try to hang their clothes on rods and handles in the bathroom, but this is not always enough. You obviously need more space to hang your clothes.

So, all you've got to do is mount foldable drying racks to the wall of your laundry room. The good part about using these is that you can fold them back when you are not using them. This way, you avoid getting injured, plus you get additional space to dry your clothes.

3. The fluff and fold method

There are two ways that people follow for folding their laundry. Some fold them right away, while others leave them in the basket for days. Leaving them in the basket for days only clutters your space and does no good.

you need to install a countertop over your washer and dryer. You are just offering yourself some space where you can fold your clothes and keep the wrinkles away. This countertop will not just help you keep the clutter away, but it will also add some style to your laundry space.

4. Use those cabinets

People often overlook the undercabinet space in their laundry room. If you have a laundry space that has a lot of open cabinet space, you can transform it into a cosy nook to keep your pets while you are busy doing the laundry. You can even keep your cage or boxes there so that you can get rid of the clutter in your living room.

And if you do not have pets, you can obviously use that space to store extras. Of course, who minds extra storage space? Try adding crates or wooden boxes for laundry essentials, or keep a stool handy to reach higher shelves easier. And if you do not have open under-cabinet shelves, you can transform your existing shelves into sorting bins for your laundry and tuck them out of sight.

So, now that you are aware of the tips that can help you maximize your laundry space, do not just sit back and try them.
